ray regnoRay has been CrossFitting since 2007. After building a following training in local parks, he and his family opened a gym in Point Loma. In the beginning, they rarely bothered with any significant warm ups or cool downs. They just went after it. They beat themselves up over and over again and kept coming back for more. They didn’t know a whole lot about recovery techniques and basic athlete maintenance. Perpetual soreness and occasional injuries were not uncommon.

A lot has changed since then. These days, thanks in large part to Kelly Starrett of San Francisco CrossFit and Mobility WOD, CrossFit trainers and athletes are much more knowledgeable when it comes to things like mobility, position, mechanics, and recovery. As a trainer, Ray has come to place where an emphasis on QUALITY of movement supersedes intensity and/or volume. Intensity and volume are still the goal, but if people get pushed to the breaking point all the time, they won’t continue training for long. Ensuring athlete safety and longevity is priority one. This is why he loves Movement RX and is excited to be part of the team. Our mission is to not only help those who are injured get better faster, but help healthy athletes stay healthy so they can continue to train and enjoy life for years to come.
